2018 FUTURITY
The ICHA board of directors met on December 3 at Pizza Ranch in Altoona to discuss the 2018 futurity over lunch. Plans are to add weekend event classes to the schedule so we will have more to offer cutters at the show at the historic National Cattle Congress in Waterloo, Iowa. Did we mention FREE parking? Watch for details.

NCHA CHALLENGER SERIES
Plans are being made to kick off the new year with an NCHA Challenger Show at Kirchner Cutting Horses in Clarinda on Saturday, January 6. We will hold our annual membership meeting and election that evening at the Ice House in Clarinda. Watch the website and Facebook for details but get it marked on your calendars! We intend to offer more Challenger Series shows this year, as it seems our members enjoy the shows. Congratulations to the ICHA members who are in the NCHA Regional Top 15 Challenger Standings for 2017.

NCHA FUTURITY
The NCHA Futurity is wrapping up in Fort Worth, Texas this week. Congratulations to the ICHA members who were able to advance to the 2nd round and semi-finals. Good luck to them in the semis as well.

ICHA RON MCCARTY MEMORIAL GREENHORN STANDINGS (as of 9/1/17)
The Ron McCarty Memorial Greenhorn class gives beginner cutters a chance to gain experience and confidence as they progress. Once they reach 20 cumulative points, they are awarded the McCarty Buckle and graduate out of eligibility. Once you’ve entered the McCarty Greenhorn class you are eligible to show in it until you point out. The McCarty Greenhorn class is a $15.00 cattle charge class only, with no entry fee/no payback. Riders earn one point each time they show (ride into the herd) in the class plus points are awarded as if NCHA payback was used.
